Rachael Heydon

Occupational Therapist

Rachael has been a qualified Occupational Therapist since graduating from Southern Cross University on the Gold Coast in 2014. Rachael is registered as an Occupational Therapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and is a member of Occupational Therapy Australia (OTA). Rachael has 6 years’ experience working in areas such as: Discharge Support Home Team conducting home visits involving major and minor home modifications as well as community based assessments and therapy programs, In-patient assessment and Rehabilitation including equipment prescription and carer training, Patient Education, Service Consultation, Compression Therapy, and has worked extensively on acute and geriatric wards as well as specialising in comprehensive cognitive and capacity assessments.

Rachael also specialises in the Assessment of the fitness to drive a vehicle. Rachael has a certificate in the Nationally Recognised Driver Training and Rehabilitation Program from the University of Sydney, allowing her to provide a specialty service for people following a medical illness, injury, disability or any condition which may impact on the person’s ability to drive. Rachael’s passion is to enhance a person’s safety and independence, whilst enabling you or your family member to begin or return to driving safely and legally. This includes Comprehensive Clinical Assessment, Practical On-Road Assessment with a driving instructor and a Driver Rehabilitation Program (Where practicable).
